Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce receive major boost as New Heights makes 2027 Grammys shortlist

Newspoint
The Kelce brothers are adding another major milestone to their growing media empire. New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce has earned a place among 30 podcasts eligible for consideration at the 2027 Golden Globes, putting the popular NFL podcast in contention for the show’s second Best Podcast award. The shortlist also features several high-profile names from comedy, culture, politics and sports, setting up a competitive race ahead of the nominations. The recognition comes as New Heights continues to turn the brothers’ football fame and sibling chemistry into one of the most closely followed podcasts in the United States.

New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce makes the 2027 shortlistNew Heights is competing alongside established shows including Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang and Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast.

The list contains 30 eligible podcasts selected using data from Luminate, an entertainment data and analytics company. Its assessment considers several measures, including audience reach, listener engagement, revenue and chart performance. The company uses direct platform data to help establish which shows qualify.

That gives the Kelce brothers another notable achievement beyond their NFL connections. Jason Kelce spent his career as a star centre for the Philadelphia Eagles, while Travis remains one of the NFL’s biggest names with the Kansas City Chiefs. Their podcast has allowed the brothers to build an audience that extends well beyond football.

The shortlist does not mean New Heights has secured a nomination yet. The 30 eligible shows will be invited to submit themselves for consideration before voters decide which podcasts advance.

2027 Golden Globes podcast award faces strong competitionThe competition will be particularly tough because several popular podcasts from the previous cycle have qualified again. Call Her Daddy, Good Hang with Amy Poehler, The Mel Robbins Podcast and SmartLess are all back in contention.

They will face other major shows, including The Joe Rogan Experience, The Megyn Kelly Show and The Tucker Carlson Show. The wide range of programmes reflects how quickly podcasting has expanded into entertainment, news, comedy and celebrity culture.

The category itself is still relatively new. Good Hang with Amy Poehler won the inaugural Best Podcast award at this year’s Golden Globes, giving the emerging category its first winner.

The second award will be presented on January 10, 2027, when the Golden Globes return to recognise another year of entertainment.

For Jason and Travis Kelce, simply reaching the eligibility list marks another step in the rise of New Heights. Whether the brothers make the final nominations will depend on the next stage of voting, but their inclusion places the podcast alongside some of the biggest names in the medium.
