Travis Kelce 's connection to a multimillion-dollar Ponzi scheme has taken a fresh turn, with new court revelations raising questions about the convicted fraudster's plans before prison. Siddarth Jawahar , who defrauded investors through his Texas-based fund, reportedly sought to marry a U.S. citizen as he faced deportation. While his fiancée insists their relationship is genuine, prosecutors suspect the marriage could help him remain in the country.

“The truth is, Mr. Jawahar very much hopes to stay here after his sentence and build a life with Caroline, and he plans to pursue any legal avenues to do so,” Passon stated.
However, the lawyer acknowledged that “given this case and his current immigration status, his ability to remain here is highly unlikely.”
A monitored June 30 phone call added to the scrutiny. When Tredway asked, “What if you get deported?” Jawahar replied, “If you don’t marry me, I guess that might happen,”
He also reportedly told her that “the chance of me getting deported goes down dramatically” if they married.
Tredway defended their relationship in an August letter to the court. She said they met in 2021 and began dating in February 2023.
“That night, Sid voiced his interest in me and asked me out on a date for the next evening,” she wrote. “That date turned out to be the best date of both of our lives. Because we already had such a strong foundation of trust and friendship, we fell deeply in love very quickly.”
She further stated that “legitimizing our marriage before he enters a federal facility is vital for our family.”
“I enter into this marriage with my eyes completely open to Sid’s legal situation,” Tredway wrote.

Prosecutors say his company, Swiftarc Capital LLC, collected more than $35 million from July 2016 to December 2023 but invested only about $10 million. He allegedly used new investors' money to repay earlier ones while funding an extravagant lifestyle.
Jawahar also reportedly paid Missouri consulting firm Axiom $10,000 to seek a supportive letter from Republican Rep. Sam Graves. Prosecutors further accused him of trying to coach a victim's statement and asking his sister to erase his iPhone.
During conversations with Tredway's relatives, Jawahar reportedly expected “close to time served” and planned to “focus on getting a pardon because there were a lot of gross violations of the law.”
He also said, “But my move after that is — I’d most likely be teaching a class in business ethics at Fordham University,”
Kelce was among the investors defrauded by Jawahar, though the Chiefs star has not publicly commented on the case. NBA players Gary Harris , Tim Hardaway Jr. and Mason Plumlee were also reportedly connected to the fund.
As Jawahar begins his prison sentence, the marriage controversy adds another legal complication to a case that has already left investors facing significant financial losses.
