Virat Kohli Plans Move to London with Family, Says Childhood Coach
Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is reportedly preparing to relocate to London with his family. According to his childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma , Kohli, along with his actor wife Anushka Sharma and their two children—Vamika (born January 2021) and Akaay (born February 2024)—is planning to leave India and settle in the European city.
“Virat apne baccho aur patni Anushka Sharma ke sath London mein shift hone ki yojna bana rahe hain. Vo bahut jald hi Bharat chor kar waha basne wale hai,” said Rajkumar during an interview with Dainik Jagran published on Thursday.
Born and raised in Delhi, Kohli later moved to Mumbai after marrying Anushka in December 2017 in a private ceremony in Italy. Earlier this year, he skipped the five-match Test series against England to be with Anushka for the birth of their second child, Akaay, on February 15, 2024, in London.
Kohli’s Form and Future in Cricket
During the interview, Rajkumar also addressed concerns about Kohli’s form and his retirement plans. He dismissed any worries, expressing confidence in Kohli’s performance in upcoming matches.
“Virat is playing the best cricket of his career. He scored a century in the first Test against Australia. I believe in the upcoming two Tests, he is going to score two more centuries. He has always enjoyed his cricket. His form is not a matter of concern. He knows how to perform in difficult situations and help his side win the match," he said.
Rajkumar further added that Kohli’s fitness remains exemplary, and retirement is far from his plans. “Virat is still very fit, and he is not old enough to take retirement. I think he will play for five more years. He will definitely play for India in the 2027 ODI World Cup. I have known him for the last 26 years, and that’s why I can say that there’s still so much cricket left in him,” he said.
