Newspoint

Gears of War: E-Day arrives on October 6. Ahead of the game’s availability, Xbox has now revealed the final PC requirements for the upcoming action title. The Coalition has detailed the hardware needed to play the title at 1080p, 1440p and 4K, with upscaling required across all three performance targets.

The minimum setup targets 1080p at 60 FPS , and the recommended configuration targets 1440p at 60+ FPS. If you’re a gamer after 4K at Ultra settings, you’ll need much beefier hardware, such as an RTX 5070 Ti or Radeon RX 7900 XT.

Gears of War: E-Day minimum PC requirements
The minimum setup is 60 FPS at 1080p, on Medium graphics settings with upscaling. Players will require an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050, RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 6600 or Radeon RX 9060.

The CPU requirements include an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7-6850K or Core i5-10400. The system should also have 12GB of RAM , 6GB of VRAM and 115GB of SSD storage.

Recommended specs for 1440p gaming

The recommended configuration targets 1440p at 60+ FPS with High graphics settings and upscaling. The listed GPUs include the GeForce RTX 5060, RTX 3060 Ti, Radeon RX 6700 XT and Radeon RX 9060 XT.

On the CPU side, the game recommends at least a Ryzen 5 5600 or Core i5-11600K. This configuration requires 16GB RAM and 8GB of VRAM.

Here's how the three PC configurations compare:

4K Ultra gaming needs serious hardware
If you want 4K at 60+ FPS, the requirements are much higher. Ultra preset requires an RTX 5070 Ti or Radeon RX 7900 XT and a minimum Ryzen 7 7800X3D or Core i7-14700K.

The Ultra configuration also requires 12GB of VRAM and 16GB of RAM. The higher hardware requirements are expected, given that the game features ray-traced reflections, shadows and global illumination.

Upscaling is required across all tiers
One notable part of the final requirements is that DLSS, FSR, TSR and XeSS upscaling are listed for all three configurations. In other words, the stated 1080p, 1440p and 4K performance targets are based on using upscaling rather than native rendering.

The game will also include a built-in PC benchmark, allowing players to test different graphics settings and find a suitable performance setup.

Gears of War: E-Day launches on October 6 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
