Maruti Fronx Facelift: New Engine, ADAS and Feature Updates
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is set to receive several updates with its upcoming facelift. The new version is expected to bring changes across the engine, safety features, cabin comfort and exterior styling.
Among the key additions could be a new 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The exterior design is also expected to receive a few noticeable changes.
One of the biggest changes expected with the Fronx facelift is the introduction of a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine. The petrol version is expected to produce around 81 bhp and 112 Nm of torque.
A CNG version could also be offered, with an expected output of around 67 bhp and 101 Nm of torque.
Fuel efficiency is likely to be another important focus of the new engine. The manual version is expected to deliver around 23.80 kmpl, while the AMT version could offer approximately 24.77 kmpl. A CNG-AMT combination may also be introduced at a later stage.
The Z12E engine already powers the updated Baleno, where it produces 81 bhp and is claimed to return 23.80 km/l with the manual gearbox and 24.77 km/l with the AMT.
Ventilated Seats, TPMS and Level 2 ADASThe facelifted Fronx is expected to receive several new features aimed at improving comfort and safety. Ventilated front seats could be added to the SUV, helping provide greater comfort during hot weather and longer journeys.
A Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, or TPMS, is also expected. The system can help drivers keep track of tyre pressure, although its availability across different variants has not yet been confirmed.
The biggest safety upgrade could be Level 2 ADAS. The expected package may include features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning. Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert could also be part of the safety package.
Maruti has already introduced Level 2 ADAS and ventilated front seats on the updated Baleno, with the ADAS package available on its top-spec Alpha (O) variant.
The Fronx facelift is also expected to receive styling revisions, particularly at the front. The overall coupe-SUV shape is likely to remain, while the front-end design could get a more updated appearance.
The Boosterjet version may receive red detailing, while the existing silver garnish could be replaced by a gunmetal grey connecting element. This could give the SUV a sportier appearance.
The front bumper is also expected to be redesigned, with a more prominent silver skid plate. The lower air intake may continue with a design similar to the current model.
At the rear, the connected LED tail lamps are expected to remain largely unchanged, although the bumper could receive some modifications.
Maruti Fronx Facelift Launch and Expected PriceThe Fronx facelift is expected to arrive in the coming months, with the model likely to reach Indian showrooms by early 2027, according to the information provided.
The prices of the lower variants are expected to remain close to the existing model. However, higher variants could become around ₹1 lakh more expensive because of the additional safety and convenience features.
