Part ultrabook, part gaming rig: Why slim gaming laptops became their own category

Look at what people carry into offices, lecture halls, or even holidays and most of it is still an ultrabook. Lately, though, something else keeps turning up beside them. Thin, plainly finished, quietly expensive, with a graphics chip inside that has no obvious business being there. Slim gaming laptops , as the industry files them, though almost nobody buying one uses the phrase. Neither half of the laptop market spent the last decade selling that.
