Shoppers rush to EE for free Black Ops 7 in-game items
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 officially launched on 14 November and with the pre-order period now closed shoppers are scrabbling to get their hands on one of the biggest game launches of the year.
EE is offering shoppers free in-game items for Black Ops 7, including the Raver operator skin, Beat Dodger calling card, Rave Buggy weapon charm and Teddy.404 emblem. Eligible EE pay monthly mobile customers will be able to get a code for those items by texting EECOD to 150
That means that shoppers who haven't got Black Ops 7 can order it for £61.99 from EE and get a code for those free items - but be aware that codes are limited and they will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
While anyone can buy from EE stores, existing customers have the advantage of more payment options, able to spread the cost of purchases by adding them to their monthly EE bill.
The in-game items are a tempting offer, but there is a cheaper way to buy the game. Using a trick via Top Cashback, it's possible to get the price down to £44 when buying at Argos via Top Cashback, which I'll detail below.
Argos is offering Black Ops 7 on Xbox and PS5 for £59.99 (regular edition) - but this is for the disc, so gamres will need collection or delivery. Currys is offering Black Ops 7 at £69.99, again for the disc version. Amazon, meanwhile, has Black Ops 7 for £59.95 with the Steelbook.
None of those prices beats the Top Cashback deal, however, if shoppers are new to the service. Top Cashback works by giving shoppers cashback once they make their purchase through an eligible store - and that includes Argos.
Here's how it works:
There are a couple of things to know - only new Top Cashback customers will get the £15 offer when they register, so existing customers don't get that benefit, but will still get a smaller cashback when buying Black Ops 7. New customers to Argos will get 3% cashback, but existing customers only get 1%.
That means that Black Ops 7 could cost £44.21 for new customers, or £44.49 for existing customers, after cashback. For those more interested in the in-game items from EE, Top Cashback can also be used to buy from EE, earning 2% cashback.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set in 2035 and follows on from the events in Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. David Mason leads the JSOC team to save the world from impending doom.
There will be 16 6v6 maps and two 20 vs 20 maps for multiplayer fans at launch, with a range of environments, zombie mode for those who like it a little more chaotic and an all-new co-op campaign with futuristic warfighting that takes the action into a new dimension.
IGN has reviewed it and said: It said: "Crashing aside, and no surprise here, but I've had a blast with what I've been able to play so far. I mean, it's Call of Duty, where the whole point is either to rack up as many kills as possible, or hold an objective... while also racking up as many kills as possible."
However, they did note that some weapons were quite unbalanced. They added: "Once you unlock all the level requirements, there are a total of 16 available guns."
