Tata Sierra Dark Edition Launched: Check Price, Features and Engine Options

Tata Sierra Dark Edition: Tata Motors has expanded the Sierra lineup with a new Dark Edition, bringing an all-black styling theme to the SUV. Called the Sierra #DARK, the special edition is available from the Pure L trim onwards and carries a premium of ₹20,000 over the corresponding Pure L version. On higher trims, the Dark Edition costs ₹30,000 more than the standard variants.

Prices for the Tata Sierra Dark Edition start at ₹13.99 lakh for the Pure L and go up to ₹21.59 lakh for the top-spec Accomplished+ variant, ex-showroom. The special edition is available with the same powertrain combinations offered with the regular Sierra range.

Tata Sierra Dark Edition: Exterior and Interior Changes

The biggest change comes in the form of the new Friesian Black

exterior colour. Tata has replaced much of the chrome treatment found on the standard Sierra with darker elements. The Tata badges and alloy wheels also receive a blacked-out finish, while #DARK badging is added to the front fenders.

The dark theme continues inside the cabin. The interior gets violet and purple highlights that contrast with the predominantly black treatment. These accents are visible around areas such as the air-conditioning vents, door handles and front armrest, while purple stitching adds another distinctive touch.

There are no major changes to the equipment list compared with the corresponding standard trims. Depending on the variant, the Sierra continues to offer features such as a triple-screen dashboard, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, connected-car technology, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera and a 12-speaker JBL Black audio system.

Tata Sierra Dark Edition: Engine and Transmission Options

The Dark Edition does not bring any mechanical changes to the Sierra. Buyers continue to get the same petrol, diesel and turbo-petrol powertrains available with the standard SUV.

The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 106hp and is available with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre diesel engine develops 118hp and can be paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed torque-converter automatic.

At the top of the range is the 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, which produces 160hp and comes with a six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. The turbo-petrol option is available on the higher Sierra Dark trims.
