Once verified, the ATM will count and accept the cash, and the deposit will reflect in your bank account instantly.
What is Interoperable Cash Deposit (ICD)?
Interoperable Cash Deposit, or ICD, is a system that lets customers deposit cash into their bank accounts at ATMs of any participating bank. Earlier, cash deposits were mostly restricted to home bank ATMs. With ICD through UPI, customers gain flexibility and convenience, as they can deposit money at ATMs not owned by their own bank.Role of UPI in ATMs
UPI ATMs operate differently from traditional machines. Instead of inserting a card, the machine generates a QR code on the screen. Customers can scan this QR code using their UPI application and authorize the transaction. This eliminates the risks associated with card skimming and PIN theft while making the process more seamless.Step-by-Step Guide to Using UPI ATM for ICD
- Visit a UPI-enabled ATM that supports Interoperable Cash Deposit.
