To make video chats more interactive, WhatsApp is also testing emoji reactions during video calls. Participants will be able to react in real time using emojis, adding a fun and expressive layer to the conversation.

In addition to call-related upgrades, WhatsApp is developing a privacy toggle for media auto-save. This feature would allow senders to decide whether shared photos, videos, or other media should be saved on the recipient’s device.
Much like the existing Disappearing Messages feature, this toggle could give users more control and reduce the risk of unwanted sharing, accidental storage, or data misuse.
