736 Parks, Only 16 Have CCTV Cameras: DDA Audit Flags Major Security Gaps In Delhi Parks

A safety audit of 736 Delhi Development Authority parks has highlighted major gaps in security infrastructure. The audit found that only 16 parks have CCTV cameras, while 323 additional parks have been identified for camera installation. The DDA has classified 190 parks as high-risk, 258 as medium-risk and 288 as low-risk. It has also identified 520 parks requiring additional lighting, with work underway in 231 and completed in 106. Night patrolling has started in 245 major parks, while bike patrolling has begun in all high-risk parks. The audit also identified 134 parks requiring armed guards and 163 parks where gates need to be made lockable.
