AAP Leader Satyendar Jain Arrested In Delhi Jal Board ‘Corruption’ Case; Kejriwal Hits Out At BJP

AAP leader and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain has been arrested by the Delhi government’s Anti-Corruption Branch in connection with alleged corruption in the Delhi Jal Board. The ACB has arrested six people in the case, including former DJB CEO Udit Prakash Rai, former contractual consultant Ankit Srivastava and three private individuals — Nagendra Yadav, Raja Kumar Kurra and Pankaj Verma. The arrests follow an FIR registered on May 11, 2024, under the Prevention of Corruption Act and IPC provisions covering bribery, criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal conspiracy. The case concerns alleged irregularities, manipulation of tender conditions and conspiracy in the tendering process for STP augmentation and upgradation. AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia criticised the BJP, with Kejriwal calling the case fake and Sisodia linking Jain’s arrest to the Punjab elections.
