Activist Devendra Mahto Stopped From Tiranga March As Jharkhand Student Protest Escalates On I-Day

Jharkhand's JPSC-JSSC student agitation witnessed a fresh flashpoint on Independence Day as JLKM leader Devendra Nath Mahto was allegedly stopped from joining a Tiranga Yatra at Ranchi's Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium. Mahto, who is on the 14th day of an indefinite hunger strike, questioned the heavy police deployment outside his hospital room. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Hemant Soren promised transparent recruitment examinations and highlighted the “Chhatron Ki Baat – Chhatron Ke Sath” initiative. Student leader Ravinder Paswan said protesters would focus on celebrating India's freedom without raising their demands on Independence Day.
