Agniveers' Second Tour Of Duty: IAF Details Salary And Savings Package Under Agnipath

The Union Cabinet has approved a two-year extension of service for Agniveers under the Agnipath scheme, allowing eligible personnel to serve beyond their initial four-year tenure. Air Vice Marshal Shekhar Yadav said Agniveers opting for the second tour will receive a monthly salary of Rs 43,500 in the first year and Rs 47,500 in the second, along with applicable allowances. Only those completing their first four-year tenure will be eligible to apply, with selection based on objective criteria. The government will contribute Rs 7.64 lakh to their corpus, while Agniveers will contribute Rs 3.28 lakh. After the extension, willing personnel can seek enrolment into the regular defence cadre, subject to selection criteria.
