Albanese Hails Modi’s Energy Push: ‘India Gave More People Access Than Anywhere In History’

Australian PM Anthony Albanese has credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with expanding energy access in India on an unprecedented scale. Speaking at an Asia Society Policy Institute event, Albanese said more people gained access to energy in India under Modi than in any decade, region or country in human history. His remarks come amid global energy disruptions linked to the West Asia conflict and Strait of Hormuz shipping crisis. India says it has diversified energy imports from 27 countries to 41, while the MEA maintains that diversified sourcing remains central to securing energy supplies for 1.4 billion people.
