Angry Mob Attacks BSF Jawans During Anti-Smuggling Drive In Tripura; 8 Arrested

Four BSF personnel, including Assistant Commandant Rohit Kumar, were injured after a clash with locals during an anti-smuggling operation near the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura’s Sepahijala district. The incident began following an argument near the Ashabari Border Outpost, after a man suspected of smuggling was detained and allegedly assaulted by a BSF jawan. Residents later blocked the Boxanagar-Rahimpur road, and a crowd attacked the arriving BSF team, damaging their vehicle. Tripura Police have launched an investigation and arrested eight people. Chief Minister Manik Saha condemned the assault, assuring that all those involved would face strict legal action.
