B Nagendra Quits Karnataka Cabinet Amid Valmiki Scam Allegations, Calls Charges Politically Driven

Karnataka minister B Nagendra has resigned from the state cabinet amid mounting pressure over alleged financial irregularities in the Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation. Nagendra, who returned to the cabinet just 25 days ago, said he was innocent and accused the opposition of targeting him. This is his second resignation over the controversy. The alleged scam surfaced after accounts superintendent Chandrashekhar P died by suicide, alleging unauthorised transfers of Rs 187 crore. The CBI is investigating the case, while a state-appointed SIT is conducting a parallel probe. The resignation has intensified Karnataka’s political battle.
