Bihar UCC War: JD(U) Rejects Implementation Plan, RJD Slams BJP After Amit Shah’s Big Announcement

A political storm has erupted in Bihar over the Uniform Civil Code after Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the UCC would be implemented across 21 NDA-ruled states by 2029. Senior JD(U) leader Shyam Rajak has reiterated that while the party supported the UCC Bill in Parliament, it opposes implementation in Bihar, citing Nitish Kumar’s earlier stand. Other JD(U) leaders have adopted a cautious approach, with Sanjay Kumar Jha set to discuss the issue with Shah. Meanwhile, the RJD has accused the BJP of “politics of hate” and vowed to oppose any move that could hurt Muslims.
