BJP's ₹529 Crore Poll Spending Revealed; Bengal Alone Accounted For ₹287 Crore, EC Data Shows

BJP spent ₹529 crore across five Assembly elections held in April 2026, with West Bengal accounting for ₹287 crore, according to expenditure statements filed with the Election Commission. The party also reported spending ₹83 crore in Kerala, ₹96 crore in Assam, ₹52 crore in Tamil Nadu and ₹12 crore in Puducherry. Congress reported ₹249 crore in total spending, while CPM reported ₹39 crore. BJP's central headquarters received ₹1,473 crore during the election period, while its balance rose to ₹7,627 crore. Congress' combined balance across five state units fell to ₹103 crore.
