‘Came From The Top’: Mahua Moitra Alleges Late-Night Pressure, Seeks Speaker Om Birla’s Intervention

TMC MP Mahua Moitra has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alleging that the Nadia district administration tried to force her out of a Circuit House in Krishnanagar late at night. Moitra claims she was allotted a room, served food and later asked to vacate, while a crowd allegedly gathered outside and shouted slogans. She says the incident raises serious concerns about the safety and dignity of women MPs. Moitra is considering a privilege motion and possible legal action. TMC, Congress and Samajwadi Party leaders have criticised the alleged incident.
