Delhi Rain Fury: 9 Flights Diverted As Thunderstorms Lash Capital, Red Warning Issued By IMD
Heavy rain and thunderstorms disrupted life across Delhi-NCR on Friday, forcing nine flights to be diverted from Indira Gandhi International Airport. Four flights were sent to Jaipur, four to Lucknow and one to Ahmedabad. Water accumulation was also reported at the airport. Palam recorded the highest rainfall at 72.2 mm in three hours, while gusty winds reached 76 kmph. The IMD issued a red warning for heavy rainfall in parts of the region. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue through Saturday, with rainfall intensity likely to ease from September 6.
