‘Dhappa’: Rahul Gandhi Dodges Police, Pulls Off Akashvani Bhawan Surprise With Priyanka

The INDIA bloc’s protest march from Parliament to the Election Commission headquarters took an unexpected turn when Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra changed course and entered the nearby Akashvani Bhawan premises. The march was planned to demand Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. With central Delhi heavily barricaded and police and paramilitary personnel deployed, several Opposition MPs were detained and moved into buses. Rahul and Priyanka instead sat under a tree near Gate No. 4. Congress leaders later joined the protest, while some climbed the boundary wall. Congress also shared a video of the “detour” with a ‘dhappa’ caption.
