EC Releases List Of Goa's 97 Left-Out Voters: 88 Form 6 Acceptances, 3 Hold Portuguese Passports

Goa’s Chief Electoral Officer has provided details about 97 voters whose names were not included in the electoral roll during the Special Intensive Revision, or SIR.According to the CEO, forms for 88 voters have been submitted, while three voters hold Portuguese passports and six are living abroad. Officials are making efforts to contact those living overseas.The Indian Express had reported that Electoral Registration Officers found all 97 voters eligible, but their names could not be included in the final roll due to a software issue.The Election Commission also conducted a house-to-house survey and asked the omitted voters to submit Form 6 for inclusion in the electoral roll.Meanwhile, the EC has amended Form 6 in states where SIR has been completed. Voters will no longer have to provide details linked to the 2003 electoral roll, though eligibility will continue to be verified.
