DUSU ELECTIONS WARNING TO CONGRESS-----19-09-2026

Deepanshu Shokeen has won the Delhi University Students’ Union Vice-President post as an independent candidate after being denied an NSUI ticket. Securing 30,615 votes, he defeated ABVP’s Ishu Maurya by 13,705 votes. The son of a DTC bus conductor and an Anganwadi teacher, Shokeen campaigned barefoot, vowing not to wear shoes until justice was delivered to students affected by the Satya Niketan building collapse, which killed seven people, including five DU students. The DUSU 2026 results also saw ABVP candidates win the President, Secretary and Joint Secretary posts.
