High Alert In 5 Jammu Districts As Security Forces Search For Injured Jaish Terrorist
A high alert has been issued across five districts in Jammu and Kashmir — Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Doda and Kishtwar — following an encounter in the Majalta forests. Security forces launched Operation Sohan on September 16 in the dense forests of Bartal, Sohan and Khubban. Two Pakistani terrorists affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed were neutralised, while a third terrorist, believed to be injured, reportedly escaped. The Army’s White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF have intensified cordon and search operations. Security has also been tightened in Doda’s Bhalesa area, with the SOG increasing searches and patrolling. Forces are using drones, sniffer dogs and thermal-surveillance helicopters. A suspected over-ground worker has reportedly been detained and questioned, while searches continue at suspected hideouts.
