‘I Was Shocked’: Rahul Gandhi Says President Murmu ‘Accepted’ INDIA Bloc’s View on ‘Vote Chori’

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said President Droupadi Murmu did not deny the Opposition’s allegations of ‘vote chori’ and irregularities in the Election Commission’s handling of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. Gandhi made the remarks after an Opposition delegation, including Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, met the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan for nearly an hour. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar were conspiring to undermine Indian democracy. Gandhi said the President asked the delegation to provide proof of its claims. The meeting followed three days of Opposition protests over voter roll revision and electoral irregularities.
