India Opens DRDO Missile Technologies To Defence Firms In Major Push For Indigenous Production
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved the transfer of DRDO-developed technologies for all conventional missile systems to eligible Indian defence companies for domestic production. The move aims to accelerate indigenous missile manufacturing, reduce import dependence and expand private industry participation in India’s defence ecosystem. Companies will need to meet applicable qualifications, certifications and regulatory requirements. The initiative is also expected to create opportunities for MSMEs and technology partners while increasing domestic value addition. DRDO will continue working with Indian industry to facilitate technology absorption and strengthen India’s defence manufacturing capabilities.
