India Signs ₹1,577 Crore Drone Deals As Army Powers Up Precision Strikes And Unmanned Warfare

India is accelerating its military drone push with two Defence Ministry contracts worth ₹1,577 crore for loitering munitions and associated equipment. Tata Advanced Systems and Nibe Limited will supply the systems under the Buy Indian scheme, strengthening the Army’s precision-strike capabilities. The Army plans to induct tens of thousands of indigenous unmanned systems over the next five years, including drone swarms, FPV strike drones, surveillance platforms and long-range loitering munitions. With India targeting global drone hub status by 2030, the move marks a major shift towards indigenous, unmanned and precision warfare.
