Jaishankar Meets Putin In Moscow, India-Russia Trade Soars As Both Sides Target $100 Billion By 2030
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow as India and Russia pushed to deepen economic and strategic ties. Trade, energy, fertilisers and nuclear cooperation were at the centre of discussions, with Putin promising continued fertiliser supplies to Indian farmers. Bilateral goods trade has surged nearly four-fold to almost $60 billion, but India’s trade imbalance with Russia has crossed $50 billion. Jaishankar called correcting the imbalance a priority, while both sides aim for $100 billion trade by 2030. The talks also set the stage for upcoming SCO and BRICS meetings. Watch
