Journalist Who Alleged Sexual Assault By Delhi Cop Detained Over FIR Demand

Around 17 people, including one of the female journalists who has accused a police officer of sexual assault, were detained in Delhi after spending the night outside the Parliament Street police station.The protesters were demanding registration of an FIR and action over complaints filed by three female journalists, who alleged sexual assault and manhandling during a protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on October 3.Delhi Police said the complaints have been handed over to the Crime Branch. The statements of the three women were recorded, medical examinations were conducted, and CCTV footage is being examined.The Cockroach Janta Party, or CJP, has also backed the journalists and demanded action against the police personnel named in the complaints.
