'Narco Kingpin' Navpreet Deported From Turkey To India; Shah Hails Modi Govt's 'Historic Milestone'
Alleged narco-trafficking kingpin Navpreet Singh has been brought back to India after being deported from Türkiye, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said.According to Shah, Singh had obtained Turkish citizenship using the identity “Navab Virk” and was allegedly involved in smuggling heroin and methamphetamine from Afghanistan to India.Indian agencies reportedly traced his identity and secured his deportation. Singh is now in custody in India in connection with cases related to alleged drug trafficking and other crimes.The investigation into the alleged international drug network began in 2021 and involved links across India, Afghanistan and Türkiye. Investigators had also seized large quantities of heroin during the probe.
