‘Only Akhilesh Can Beat BJP’: SP Leader Iqra Hasan's Remark Triggers Fresh Congress-SP Face-Off

The Congress and Samajwadi Party have entered a fresh war of words ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. SP MP Iqra Hasan said Congress cannot achieve much on its own and claimed Akhilesh Yadav is the only leader capable of defeating the BJP in Uttar Pradesh. Congress MP Imran Masood and leader Udit Raj hit back, citing opposition unity and the SP's 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha performances. BJP leader Neeraj Singh also questioned opposition unity, saying an alliance would not change the people's support for the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh.
