‘Only These...’: Rijiju Shares 3 Categories Of ‘Dimagi Naxals’ After Oppn’s Attack On PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “dimagi Naxal” remark has triggered a political war of words between the BJP and Congress. Former Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said he was “proud to be a dimagi Naxal” in a post responding to Modi’s Independence Day speech. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju hit back, saying Modi was not referring to Opposition leaders but to specific groups. Rijiju listed those who support Maoists and reject the Indian Constitution, those who support separatists and Article 370, and those who want to separate the Northeast from India. Modi had said armed Naxalism was being defeated but warned that people with a Maoist mindset continued to pose a threat by influencing policy and seeking opportunities to promote violence and anarchy. He had called for such “dimagi Naxals” to be identified and isolated.
