‘Personally Meet Students’: Rahul Gandhi Writes To CM Hemant Soren Over Jharkhand Protests
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has urged Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to personally meet students protesting alleged irregularities in state recruitment examinations. In a letter dated August 14 and made public on Monday, Rahul expressed support for the protesters, describing their demands as legitimate and their agitation as peaceful. He noted that some students remain on an indefinite hunger strike and called for their concerns to be resolved. Rahul said the Jharkhand government had initiated dialogue through a committee and that there was agreement on several student demands, but the protests were continuing. He also said the Congress supports the constitutional right to peaceful protest. In the letter, Rahul alleged that the education system had been influenced by the RSS and BJP. He stressed that India’s youth are the country’s future and urged Soren to hear the students and take appropriate action.
