'Political Revenge': Raghav Chadha Attacks AAP After Name Deletion From Punjab Voter Rolls
Raghav Chadha’s name has been deleted from Punjab’s draft electoral rolls, triggering a fresh political clash between the BJP and ruling AAP. Chadha, who moved from AAP to the BJP earlier this year, has alleged political vendetta after his name was marked under the Absent, Shifted, Deceased and Duplicate category as “permanently shifted.” He has cited Election Commission guidelines requiring sitting MPs to remain on draft rolls while verification is carried out. Chadha said he had voted from SAS Nagar during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and will formally seek restoration of his name. Punjab officials rejected allegations of government interference, saying the revision is handled by the Election Commission. AAP also denied involvement, stressing voter registration is an individual responsibility. Claims can be filed until mid-September before final rolls are published.
