Satya Niketan Building Collapse: Delhi Students Flag High Rents, Cramped PG Rooms

Students living in PG accommodations in Delhi’s Satya Niketan have shared concerns over rising rents, cramped rooms, poor food and water quality, and unsafe living conditions following the building collapse in the area. Several students described paying ₹13,000 to ₹20,000 or more every month, with additional expenses for food and other charges. Some spoke about repeated PG shifts due to rising prices, overcrowded rooms and health concerns. Students also questioned hostel availability, citing delays and high security deposits. The building collapse has heightened fears among those living in nearby PGs, with students raising concerns about building safety, drainage systems, food, water and overall living conditions in Satya Niketan.
