Singer Mary Millben Hits Back Over ‘Anti-Modi’ Politics Over Mohan Bhagwat New York Event

A political clash has erupted in New York over RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s August 29 event at Madison Square Garden. US singer Mary Millben, who performed India’s national anthem during PM Narendra Modi’s 2023 US state visit, criticised New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani for opposing the gathering. Millben accused Mamdani and his supporters of targeting the event because of their opposition to Modi and the BJP, while challenging them to hold their own rally. Mamdani said he does not support the event but questioned whether city authorities have legal power to cancel a private gathering.
