Supreme Court To Form Panel On July 20 Clash, Examine Police Force And Alleged Pellet Gun Use
The Supreme Court is set to constitute a high-powered committee to investigate allegations and counter-allegations surrounding police action during the July 20 CJP-led Parliament march. A retired Supreme Court judge, former High Court Chief Justice and senior police officer are expected on the panel. The Court will also examine allegations of pellet gun use that reportedly injured two protesters and consider interim compensation. Delhi Police maintains that force was used in a graded and lawful manner, while citing injuries to 248 personnel. The committee will examine videos, CCTV, digital records and other evidence.
