Swatantra Bhardwaj Arrested Over Jantar Mantar Assault After CJP's Ultimatum To Delhi Police

Delhi Police has arrested activist Swatantra Bhardwaj in connection with the alleged assault of Sanjay Kumar, father of student protester Nishu Azad, during a July 20 demonstration at Jantar Mantar. Bhardwaj was detained in Bulandshahr after a police search operation. The arrest follows protests outside Parliament Street police station after a viral podcast clip allegedly showed Bhardwaj discussing the assault. CJP leaders demanded stringent action, while MP Chandrashekhar Azad joined the protest. Bhardwaj has denied the viral clip's authenticity, cited a police medical report and said he is cooperating with the investigation.
