Sweden Confers ‘Royal Order Of Polar Star Commander Grand Cross’ On PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with Sweden’s highest honour for a Head of Government, the ‘Royal Order of Polar Star Commander Grand Cross’, during his visit to Gothenburg. The recognition marks the 31st international honour received by PM Modi. The visit also highlighted the cultural connection between India and Sweden through an exchange of gifts inspired by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Swedish Prime Minister presented PM Modi with replicas of Tagore’s handwritten epigrams and a rare photograph from his 1921 Sweden visit, while PM Modi gifted a collection of Tagore’s works along with a handcrafted Shanti Niketan bag symbolising Gurudev’s vision of empowering artisans through art.
