They Want To Disturb Punjab’s Peace’: Sukhbir Badal Flags Larger Conspiracy After Nanded Attack

Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal has called the Kirpan attack on him inside a Nanded gurdwara a “larger conspiracy” aimed at disturbing peace in Punjab ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Badal, discharged after a 90-minute surgery, suffered a five-centimetre wound on his forearm and said he would not be intimidated. Police have arrested Jaspal Singh, a gurdwara sewadar, and registered cases including attempt to murder and Arms Act offences. Investigators are probing the motive behind the attack, while Badal stresses Punjab’s brotherhood and communal harmony.
