Trade Boost: India-NZ FTA Opens Duty-Free Market, Visa Pathways & $20 Billion Investment

India and New Zealand’s Free Trade Agreement will come into force on October 20, Vijayadashami. The pact gives 100% duty-free access to Indian exports in New Zealand, while around 95% of New Zealand exports to India will see tariffs eliminated or reduced. The deal includes 5,000 skilled-professional visas, expanded student mobility, 1,000 annual working-holiday visas and a $20 billion investment commitment over 15 years. Both nations also aim to double bilateral trade by 2030, amid wider global trade uncertainty and India’s efforts to diversify export markets.
