'US Prez Trump Copied $5,000 Plan From Congress' Karnataka Model': DK Shivakumar
Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has claimed that the Congress government’s welfare schemes in the state have influenced similar initiatives across India and even in the United States. Speaking at a Congress office event, Shivakumar said Karnataka’s guarantee schemes had been replicated in states including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar. He also compared the schemes with US President Donald Trump’s proposed $5,000 payment to American adults, saying, “Trump is copying us.” Shivakumar said the proposal reflected the wider influence of Karnataka’s welfare model. He also attacked the BJP, accusing it of using Hindutva for political purposes and alleging misuse of funds and materials contributed for the Ram Temple. He criticised the Centre’s Ujjwala scheme over rising LPG prices and said Congress welfare policies provide support irrespective of caste or religion.
