‘What Benefit?’: Chidambaram Questions BRICS Gains, BJP Takes 'Naraz Fufa, FOMO’ Dig At Congress

Congress leader P Chidambaram has questioned the tangible benefits India has gained from recent BRICS summits, saying he has not seen significant results from the last two or three meetings. He noted that India is part of BRICS, SCO, G20 and QUAD, and questioned what benefits the country is receiving from these groupings. The BJP hit back at Chidambaram, accusing Congress of opposing initiatives that enhance India’s global standing. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari likened the Congress mindset to a “Naaraz Fufa” and alleged the party is experiencing FOMO over India hosting BRICS 2026. BJP MP Nalin Kohli also questioned Congress’ approach to diplomacy and defended India’s hosting of the summit.
