‘Why Rockets?’ Jaipur Residents Mock Potholes With Astronaut Protest After Monsoon Rains
More than 100 residents of Jaipur’s Gokulpura staged an unusual protest over damaged roads, massive potholes and poor drainage. Two protesters dressed as astronauts and stepped into water-filled potholes, comparing the neighbourhood’s roads to the Moon and Mars. Residents from wards 46 and 47 said they have raised complaints for nearly three months with local representatives and civic authorities. They allege their efforts to meet Jhotwara MLA Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore have repeatedly failed. With monsoon rains worsening the roads, residents demanded urgent action.
