Xi-Modi Meeting In Delhi? China Prepares Massive Delegation As India-China Ties Show Fresh Thaw

Chinese President Xi Jinping is likely to attend the BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12-13 with a delegation of around 400 officials, according to Reuters sources. His possible visit would be his first to India in seven years and comes as New Delhi and Beijing work to stabilise ties after the 2020 Galwan clash. NSA Ajit Doval is currently in Beijing for boundary talks and has met Chinese Vice President Han Zheng. A possible Modi-Xi meeting during BRICS could give fresh momentum to border diplomacy, economic engagement and broader India-China relations.
