Punjab Police Uncovers Major Drug Smuggling Operation Linked to Pakistan
Chandigarh, January 6: In a significant operation against cross-border drug trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force of Punjab Police, in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF), seized 20 kg of heroin and arrested four individuals, including a key figure responsible for managing the supply chain, as stated by Gaurav Yadav, the state's Director General of Police, on Tuesday.
Initial investigations indicate that the arrested individuals are connected to handlers based in Pakistan and were overseeing the distribution and delivery of drug shipments throughout the region.
An FIR has been filed under the NDPS Act, and authorities are currently working to identify the cross-border operatives, trace the supply routes, and dismantle the entire drug network.
