Updating the address on your Aadhaar card has become easier with UIDAI’s online services. If you have moved to a new house, changed cities or simply need to correct an outdated address, you can submit an address update request without visiting an Aadhaar centre in many cases.

How to Update Aadhaar Address Online

To begin, visit the official myAadhaar portal and log in using your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to the mobile number registered with Aadhaar.

After logging in, select the address update service and enter your new address carefully. Make sure details such as house number, street, locality, district, state and PIN code are entered correctly.

What Documents Can Be Used as Address Proof?

UIDAI accepts a range of documents as Proof of Address, subject to its prescribed list.

Applicants should select the document type exactly as listed on UIDAI’s portal and upload a clear, readable copy.

Poor-quality, incomplete or mismatched documents can result in the update request being rejected.

Registered Mobile Number Is Important

For the myAadhaar online service, access generally depends on OTP-based authentication using the mobile number registered with Aadhaar.
