Anshul Kamboj Replaces Injured Prasidh Krishna in Indias ODI Squad Against West Indies
New Chandigarh, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant change to the Indian cricket team, Anshul Kamboj has been called up to replace the injured Prasidh Krishna for the final One Day International (ODI) against the West Indies. The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday in New Chandigarh. Prasidh Krishna sustained a left hamstring injury during the second ODI in Guwahati, forcing him to withdraw from the upcoming match.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced this decision in an official statement on Thursday, confirming that Kamboj will join the squad in Chandigarh. During the second ODI, Krishna bowled five overs before leaving the field. His injury occurred after he delivered his 31st over, and he did not return to play. This unexpected exit led the Indian team management to rely on Naman Dheer's part-time off-spin bowling, as he also had to take a brief break due to cramps. While Kamboj has yet to make his ODI debut, he previously played for India in a Test match against England at Manchester last year. In another team update, all-rounder Washington Sundar has been released from the T20 series against the West Indies to participate in the Ranji Trophy for Tamil Nadu, preparing for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand. Naman Dheer, who made his ODI debut against the West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram, has been included in the T20 squad, replacing Sundar ahead of the series starting October 6.The final ODI team for India includes: Shubman Gill (captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul (vice-captain/wicketkeeper), Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Gurnoor Barar, Mohammed Siraj, Aaqib Nabi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Naman Dheer, and Anshul Kamboj. The T20 team comprises: Shreyas Iyer (captain), Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Surya Vanshi, Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Tilak Varma (vice-captain), Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, Mayank Yadav, and Naman Dheer.
