Chile introduces digital work authorisation certificate for foreign workers

Chile’s National Immigration Service (SERMIG) has introduced a free digital Work Authorisation (Habilitación Laboral) Certificate to help foreign nationals and employers verify whether an individual is authorised to work in the country, according to a report by Fragomen.

The certificate is available through SERMIG’s online immigration platform and includes a QR code that employers can use to verify the document. The move is aimed at making work authorisation checks quicker and reducing paperwork for foreign workers and employers.
